Burying the Polluted Problem
So now the automobile manufacturers are going to start producing electric cars now that the lies on global warming have been drilled into the public’s psyche.
Now granted pollution has to be dealt with the burning of earth removed fuels. What has to be considered is the carbon footprint for developing these types of vehicles. The carbon footprint on a Toyota Prius is bigger than a GM Hummer. This has been mentioned before but the same problems will arise with the new electric cars plus new problems. Such as what to do with batteries that go bad, the earth is being polluted by new technology daily.
Years ago the idea of building nuclear reactors for generating electricity was the new fountain of energy except that nobody figured out what to do with radioactive waste. Today scientists and government officials seem to be stumped with that same problem. Another technology polluter is computers that are going to landfills or incinerators.
Some ideas for those developing these new vehicles now is the time to start planning not only for today but also the future of the used up product. Recycle centers for these electric cars should be built at the same time as the models hit the road. Some of these vehicles will be recycled in the used car market. What about the ones that get totaled in accidents or other destroying problems including floods or other natural disasters? The reclamation system need to be design and built so that the problem will not be a problem when mountains of the waste finally become bothersome for a congressman’s constituents.
It should not take an act of congress to get these manufactures thinking ahead of time. Congress only has hindsight and then they go overboard for a solution to problems that they have no practical knowledge. Resolving the situation now would cost less than in the future.
So if all these people who scream for a greener world for the future maybe they need to have a better plan then just building something green look at the whole process.
